Six charged after police seize handgun and fentanyl in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Six people are facing charges after police seized a handgun, ammunition and fentanyl at a Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., home.

Police say officers executing a warrant at the home on Thursday found a stolen semi-automatic .22-calibre handgun with a round in the chamber, 15 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of fentanyl.

Three men and three women, ranging in age from 27 to 36 and all from Sault Ste. Marie, were arrested at the scene.

The women face a number of firearms-related counts and one of them is charged with drug possession.

The men face a total of about two dozen firearms-related counts.
