LAMPMAN, Sask. — An off-duty Mountie has been killed and another officer injured in a rollover on a highway in southeastern Saskatchewan.
RCMP say the two men were in a car that left the road just east of Lampman, about 190 kilometres southeast of Regina, on Tuesday night.
The 55-year-old male driver died at the scene and his 27-year-old passenger was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Police say both are from the Estevan area and are members of the local detachment.
Their names have not been released.
RCMP say an early investigation has indicated that alcohol was not a factor.
Collision reconstructionists are working to determine the cause of the rollover.
