Toronto police bust alleged drug ring, seize cocaine, marijuana, cash

Toronto police say they've busted a multimillion-dollar drug ring that stretched from the city to parts of southwestern Ontario.

They say they executed 29 search warrants in Toronto, Vaughan, Kitchener, and Stoney Creek and arrested eight people.

Police say they also seized 29 kilograms of cocaine, 700 kilograms of ephedrine — which is a precursor for the production of crystal methamphetamine — and 20 kilograms of a substance used as a cutting agent in cocaine.

They say they also found more than $300,000 of cash along with nearly 4,000 marijuana plants.

The eight people arrested face a variety of charges related to drug trafficking and the proceeds of crime.
