TORONTO — Police have released security video they hope will help identify a car and three suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in downtown Toronto on Sunday.
Investigators say Jaiden Jackson had been at rapper Drake's Pick 6ix restaurant and bar and left with a woman, who has since been interviewed by police.
They say as the pair were walking to the man's car, a black four-door Honda Civic made a U-turn and Jackson began to run. Police say two men got out of the car and began to chase Jackson and shoot at him.
Video released Friday by Det. Sgt. Gary Giroux shows Jackson running down the ramp of a parking garage with two men on foot and the driver of the car shooting at him.
After Jackson falls down, the men fire numerous times and Giroux says the victim was shot "over 20 times."
Giroux says investigators are in the process of trying to augment the video in an effort the read the licence plate of the Honda.
"We're looking for three extremely dangerous individuals," he said.
Police were still collecting and examining what he described as "high grade" video from the area where the shooting took place, Giroux said.
"(The suspects) must have been aware that there was video in this area, but they don't seem to be overly concerned about it," he said.
